I like to describe my creations as flexible and versatile. Each piece of jewelry is a dynamic object: it takes on different forms and, at times, even different functions. The possibilities for combining them are endless, and I enjoy giving those who wear my accessories the chance to have fun discovering new ways to style them and adapt the same piece to completely different looks. Although they are often voluminous, my accessories are lightweight, soft, and easy to wear. In my work, I embrace the concepts of sustainability, upcycling, and repurposing: salvaged fabric scraps are transformed into unique jewelry boxes, entirely hand-sewn. Furthermore, the magnetic clasps allow different pieces of jewelry to be connected, maintaining the common thread of dynamism that characterizes all Carlotta Scarabeo collections. My COLLECTIONS BOTANICA: is inspired by a romantic and bucolic imagery. The entire collection is characterized by soft, pastel colors. The flower has an irregular shape, frayed at the edges but made precious by the presence of a river pearl that enriches its center, which is also irregularly shaped. The collection includes a line of pendants that can be coordinated with chokers from other collections, creating ever-changing compositions and new color combinations. INTRECCI: a collection where braided nautical rope is used to create dynamic jewelry ranging from necklaces to belts and bracelets TWIST is inspired by a fluid and enveloping aesthetic. The nautical top is crafted with a succession of small knots that create a spiral pattern, a detail that characterizes the entire collection. This technique makes the yarn semi-rigid, allowing it to take on plastic forms and slightly alter its shape and fit where the weaving is applied. MORBIDE: a collection that combines the flexibility of nautical rope—a hallmark of all Carlotta Scarabeo’s collections—with the softness of velvet yarns. The nautical ropes are completely or partially covered with soft velvet and wool yarns. This allows for the creation of material combinations with different characteristics and colors. The volumes are eccentric and the lines minimal. This collection also maintains the characteristic of dynamism: the jewelry can be worn in different ways, combined to create new color combinations, or even change function. The necklaces can be complemented by pendants from other collections. SAND: is inspired by the summer season, white linen dresses, natural fabrics, the colors of sand and sunsets, and sun-baked earth. The entire collection is characterized by the use of natural materials: The nautical ropes that make Scarabeo accessories instantly recognizable are this time paired with cotton ropes and durable raffia yarns, made from 100% paper. The collection includes a line of pendants that can be paired with chokers from other collections to create ever-changing combinations, allowing for new color pairings and the ability to alter the jewelry’s style. COPE: The CoPe collection is a range of dynamic jewelry characterized by flexibility and versatility, perfectly aligned with the fluid values of the contemporary world. The wearer is given the opportunity to transform the jewelry according to their needs: changing the shape, adjusting the length, creating ever-changing color combinations, and, at times, even completely altering its function. The ability to adapt the same piece of jewelry to different looks leads the jewelry in the CoPe collection to be defined as “travel accessories.”
